This was shot in August 2009 at the inlet to Ship Harbor, a favorite location on Mount Desert Island, Maine. Hurricane Bill had just passed by, and this was part of the aftermath. It was about an hour before high tide, so people familiar with this area will know how high this cliff is. Out of nowhere, these huge waves came rushing in, flooding the harbor and parts of the trail that hugs the coastline. Across the inlet, waves were crashing into the rocks and creating a spray higher than the trees. Mother Nature's power.
