Description
Built in the 1740s, the Black Bass Hotel served many travelers, traders, and sportsmen. The famous tavern had many names through the years including Wall’s Tavern, Lumberville Hotel, Temple Bar, The Rising Sun and finally The Black Bass Hotel. As one of the oldest inns in the country, the inn is included in the National Register of Historic Places. Many celebrities and one US President have stayed here. Notably, George Washington was turned away by the Inn Keeper, who sided with the English. Most recently, part of the film ‘The Upside’ was filmed here. It is also the location of our upcoming wedding!
